This came up in the post-meeting meeting last night.

Does anyone have any idea what ever happened to the Makin brothers, Tom and Andrew? Tom was on camp staff (last year was '85, when he was the Assistant Waterfront Director), and they were both a part of the crew I went to Philmont with in '84 (809-F).

My last recollection was that Tom was enlisting, but I don't remember which branch.

Any clue?

Tom "Come here Puke" Makin I believe was ROTC and took a commission in the Army as a 2nd Lt. (God bless the lad) Rolling Eyes . Last I heard (late 80s) he was in Geremany. Last I saw of Andrew was on the football field in 87 when he played for Bishop Stang.

That's all I got....

Wow, now there's a guy I haven't heard from in a while! Steve, I assume that you are referring to the Stang Alumni newsletter. I haven't seen one of those in several years, do they still come out?

Tom, you can find the newsletter online @ bishopstang.com and look for the alumni link. Then look for the link to maroon&gray.
I think they're a little behind though.

OK gang: 23 year ago this summer was my final summer at Cachalot. Graduated from Providence College, was commissioned an officer in the US Army and served 9 years leaving as a Captain in 1996. Was never in Germany but served at various posts in the United States, did a tour on the DMZ in Korea, was in Egypt and that cesspool of a country, Somalia shortly after "Black Hawk Down". Got married in 1994, have 3 children (14, 13, 11; Tom Jr, Laura and Patrick. We lived in SC, NE, GA, LA and now am on Long Island. I've been active in scouting as an adult leader and am now an ASM with Troop 474 where both my boys are (Patrick crossed over Sunday). I'll be at Yawgoog this summer July 19-25 and am happy to be back north. That's my life. my e-mail address is makin5@optonline.net
