Over the last several days, there have been a large number of fires, all of which are believed to have been set, in the area of the Plymouth-Wareham line, which Cachalot sits on. So far, I've only heard a little radio coverage and seen one article:

http://enterprise.southofboston.com/articles/2006/05/08/news/news/news11.txt

To be clear: while these fires are in the Cachalot area, I've seen nothing indicating Camp has been affected. The reports have all been of fires near Glen Charlie Road, which is to the south and east of Cachalot.

It is, however, eerily reminiscent of the fire that burned through Cachalot in 1964, when more than 63 individual blazes were set simultaneously in Myles Standish and eventually merged into a large fire that moved through Cachalot.

Whoever is responsible has already caused a few injuries to the folks coming in to put out the fires. Here's hoping they catch them before they cause any major injuries or damage.
