Yup... that's the "Date Del." entry on the info plate (I'm guessing "date of delivery.")

I haven't heard back from the place running the VIN for me yet, but I did get a reply from my inquiry to the Army. No useable info, unfortunately:

Unfortunately, the Army does not have records on the histories of individual
trucks. We contacted the historian for the U.S. Army Transportation Center
and he does not know of any records that would assist you in search. Sorry
we could not be of more assistance.
