…is alive and well and living in Virginia. Roland Deneault, who ran the camp in '46 (leaving after one season to reenlist in the military). I had managed to track down potential contact info for him a while back, but at this evening's Executive Committee meeting we finally gave him a ring in the hopes that he'd be able to attend the 2010 Winter Gathering. George Ramos and Jeff Dumais both spoke with Mr. Deneault, and although we're not sure whether or not he'll be able to attend one of our events (he is well into his 80s and doesn't travel this way very often), it was good to be able to touch base with him all the same.
(When Mr. Deneault left, he wrote a brief note about his experiences at Cachalot for history's sake. We have it available for you to read here.) _________________ Dennis
