Once again, the Narragansett Council is graciously opening Camp Cachalot solely to the members of the Alumni Association and their families for a family camping weekend, Labor Day weekend, September 1st to 4th, 2006. Arrival should be after 4pm on Friday, September 1st, with departure by 11am, Monday, September 4th. All of the usual Camp rules & regulations will be in effect. Tent camping only, as Cachalot is neither equipped nor licensed for trailers or campers. Sites are expected to be quiet by 10pm as a courtesy to other campers.

While there is no fee for the weekend, advance registration is required. The weekend is only open to current members of the Camp Cachalot Alumni Association and their families -- it's easy to join. You may register for the weekend via email as described below. We will be doing some service projects over the course of the weekend, and we welcome volunteers!

We'll have some supervised activities for the kids in attendance, to make things easier on parents who would like to help with our service project. We'll also be planning some optional evening activities both Saturday and Sunday evening, for those interested in participating. Past activities have included night hikes, campfires, and even a movie night.

Those interesting in attending or those who have questions should send email to familycamping@cachalotalumni.org. Please let us know how many will be coming and what days you plan on attending.

Hope to see you out there!
